Metro station Stadionweg is a big station which contains 5 tracks and 5 platforms. From this station, line A (towards Araplein) splits from the lines B and C (towards Tussenvelden). This station has one siding which continues towards Tussenvelden. The track between metro station Stadionweg and Araplein is electrified with overhead wire and is protected with a ZUB system. Only the RSG2, SG3 and RSG3 can drive on this track.

Stadionweg used to have Three Tracks and Three Platform and the Fourth Track is a 400 Meter Long Siding which can accomande 12 Car of MG2, SG2, MG2/1 and SG2/1.

Stadionweg Station was Extended to Five Platforms with the 400 meter long siding been Removed and Replace with a Single Track Lightrail Branch to Springstraat.


Stadionweg Station History

Stadionweg Station Was open in 1971 as the line Extension from De Bergen, via Vismarkt and Rooseveltlaan before this Station as the Eastern terminus unitl 1975, the Line was Extended from Stadionweg to Oostpark via Tussenvelden, Driemansweg, Eendrachtsweg and Parklaan.

In Simvliet 1982, there is a Siding on track 4 at Stadionweg which was used unitl it was replace by the Station Platforms 4 and 5 When Line A opened in 2006.

Stadionweg is the Third Station of the Second section of Simvliet metro Which opens in 1971.

Stadionweg Receives a new Line Known as Line A (Simvliet) From this Station via Noordplein and Varenweg before Springstraat.

Stadionweg Platforms 1 to 4 are protected with ATB and Platforms 4 and 5 with ZUB Protection Systems which serves Lines A, B and C.

The Station has Five Platforms and it is the Biggest Station

There is a Drive-Under for Line A to Araplein from Stadionweg Platform 1 in Simvliet 2020.

In Simvliet 2020 There is no Single line between Stadionweg and Noordplein, instead there is a Double Track Line between Noordplein and Stadionweg.

Relocated Services

In Simvliet 2020, There is a Relocated Train Services for Line A (Simvliet), Line B (Simvliet) and Line C (Simvliet) with Platform 1 having a Drive Under the Four Tracks and is Served by Line A Trains to Araplein, Platform 2 was Oringally Served by Line a Trains now is served by Lines B and C Trains to De Molens and Lelywaard.

Platform 5 Service

In Simvliet 2020, There is a track Extension West of Stadionweg Platform 5, Now is been Servered by both Westbound or Eastbound Trains to Simvliet Airport or Araplein.

Because of the timetable and traffic problems, there has been built a new drive-under which starts from track 1. The track between the metro station Stadionweg and Noordplein is no longer a single track. Its now possible to drive from track 5 towards metro station De Bergen, Simvliet Centrum and Simvliet Airport. Before the year 2020, line A stoped at track 2 and the lines B and C at track 1, that changed after the year 2020, because of the drive-under.
