The Blue line is a deep-tube line of the City of Thames underground network which runs from Piccadilly Square in the south of the inner city to Hendon Market at the northeast. The line has one branch towards Aldwych but that has no regular service.
The inner city part of the line has 110 metre long platforms, allowing 6 car deep-tube stock only. The section north of Golders Oak has 135 metre long platforms and is also built with subsurface loading gauge, allowing S8 stock to run to Hendon Market in case of engineering works.
Services
All blue line trains start at Piccadilly Square. Off-peak there are 6 trains per hour to Barnet Central, 6 trains to Willford Junction and 6 trains to Hendon Market, resulting in 18 trains per hour in the inner city.
