The SG2 trains are currently the oldest subway trains which are in service. The trains were build between 1980 and 1984 and were originally coloured blue with orange doors. All of the SG2 trains got a mayor revision between 1997 and 2001. During these revision the trains have been repainted in their current grey with green and red outfit. These trains are in service on both the B and C lines and are equipped to drive with third rail power supply and overhead wire power supply. The SG2 stock is not able to drive on line A betweet Stadionweg and Springstraat, because these trains are not rested with the ZUB protection system.
