Why should that mean someone who only just joined the forum to not be allowed to post a bit of praise for the model?

I just discovered it. Want to give some credits to the author.

Thanks!
As the wiki page says, the train was first made as a static object by Supertrain_fan, and I used that to create the Metrosimulator version and program it. It was a fun project to work on.

The sounds in game are not the same as in real life. The M5 really has its own sound and is therefore quite unique (actually pretty much every GVB vehicle). Why isn't that replicated in the game?

Because the simulator deals with driving sounds at different speeds by changing the frequency of a single driving-sound file (so no different sounds at different speeds and transitions between those, or specific acceleration sounds).
The driving sound for the M5 comes from a video recorded inside an Amsterdam M5 while it's driving between two stations. So it does come from the real vehicle. And it was not easy getting it, as in most recordings you get a lot of unwanted sounds (like people walking or talking, or another train passing by), which you do not want to hear over-and-over-again when you are driving in the simulator.

Honestly, I can see a potential rework with how sounds work. We could use the same method that Transport Fever 2 uses, which are multiple really small loop sound effect samples playing at different speed phases for a single vic while retaining the same frequency adjustment function already in game. Though, it might generate lag if not executed properly.

I cut line D into two parts;
  • Simvliet Centraal - Hageningen Centraal is still being operated with RSG3 trains.
  • Hageningen Centraal - Strandboulevard is now operated in a 5-minute interval by Amsterdam M5 trains

How do i have 2 Simvlet 2020s?
