Michiel, you are gonna make a Simvliet Lightrail?
I noticed this on:
http://sim.bemined.nl/wiki/Simvliet_Poort
"Simvliet Poort was a railway station of Simvliet. The branch on which the station was included was never electrified due to insufficient height of the tunnel. It was serviced by diesel trains until the station was closed in 2020. There were plans to keep the station open as extension from Simvliet Airport (part of the Simvliet Lightrail proposal) but no decision was made in time to prevent the closing of this station."
It's true?

Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Lightrail means more than that. Take Randstadrail for example. In the hague both HTM and RET share the same track. Or take DLR (Docklands Light Railway) in East London for another example. Can someone please say more information?
Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Yes, Michiel is building this line in SImvliet and it'll be available in a future version of the simulator. For now, you can visit Simvliet Poort station with a locomotive and drive the tunnel between Simvliet Poort and Simvliet Airport, which is going to be used in the lightrail line.
Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Lightrail will be visible on metro map of the Simvliet?

Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Michiel hasn’t said anything but probably it will be added in the network map of Simvliet.
Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Would this count as lightrail?

Re: Simvliet Lightrail
It does, given that the next station is not Simvliet West but other stations in-between. Otherwise, it reminds me of some kind of suburban railway (with only these 4 stations: Centraal, West, Poort & Airport (if this is the planned route))
Re: Simvliet Lightrail
Note that the train is a MG2/1 and there is third rail visible below the catwalk.
SFMTA does not know how to run a metro system or light rail or streetcar.
Re: Simvliet Lightrail
There's both a catenary and a third rail
