Before the Simvliet Metro Line D was conceived, there was a plan back in the 80's and early 90's to make a Crossrail type service running a similar route, from Simvliet Centraal to Strandboulevard. The project was canned due to lack of funding to modernize and build the existing stations and infrastructure.

Yeah, might even be going to Ealing Central.
I can foresee the eastern part of the Yellow Line being completed between GWR Station and Oxford Cross via Queens Cross, forming the 'Circle' line.
