HTM Regiocitadis

As you voted in http://sim.bemined.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2185 for the Regiocitadis as my next project... I have already started the project a few days ago, as it seemed obvious what the result was going to be.

I created this Sketchup vehicle years ago, to use in dynamic traffic simulations at work:

And an U-OV livery version for traffic simulations for Utrecht, as back then, it was not known yet which tram type would replace the old SIG-trams there (it turned out; they went for the Urbos100 instead).

Now, I have started the add more detail to use it in Metrosimulator. Exactly the same as I did with the Avenio tram; that model also started life as a relatively simple Sketchup model used in dynamic traffic simulation projects.

Current status:

For those not familiar with this tram; it is the The Hague tram used on the RandstadRail lines (3 and 4), running on the tram network in The Hague, the former railwayline shared with the Rotterdam metro towards Zoetermeer. And the HTM (The Hague public transport operator) uses these vehicles on other tramlines too, like lines 2 and 19, and a week or two ago I saw one running as an express service from Scheveningen (the beach) to The Hague Central trainstation.

Hello,

The famous RegioCitadis, perfect for running lines 11 and 12 on Simvliet.

There is also a RegioCitadis in Kassel on the RegioTram, and it has 2 versions:
- a full electric version for the part running on the tram tracks and on the train tracks, mainly DB tracks
- a dual-mode version with an electric motor for the tram part and a diesel engine for the train part.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kassel_RegioTram

The 2nd version was created because the train section is not electrified and we needed a tram-train that could use both types of power.

As you're going to be doing the RegioCitadis, are you thinking of doing the Kassel RegioTram variant?
It's just a suggestion. You'll have the last word.

Next step; transfer the components (interior, exterior, doors, drivers desk) from Sketchup to Milkshape 3D.
(Same progress with the middle part of the tram)

Will it have green and orange line indicators or do you currently still have the green ones? or is there soon a plan to refresh the trams like the avenios?

is there going to be a variant of this tram like this? It is the new color for the regiocitadis that is being implemented slowly

I haven't decided on variations yet.
Perhaps it will just be the current blue-white RandstadRail livery and possibly a repaintable one, perhaps more. I'll concentrate on getting a service-worthy tram first.

Currently working on the passenger interior:
