RET ZGT tram

Post by Sjoerd »

My next project for the simulator... This is a small one, as it is only one vehicle this time, and I am not going to do all variants this time; only the 800 series, and just two or three liveries (yes, and probably a repainatble one ;) ).

The picture of two days ago... I noticed later; I put the wrong seats in it; these green ones belong to a more modern livery of the vehicle.

Now with correct passenger seats for this livery, functional external lights, drivers controls, and with the vehicle number:

The driver's controls are almost done. I could not find good pictures, so not all the indicator lights in the cab will be exactly as they are in the real vehicle. This is the best picture I could find: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ra_ar21/31863867957

Its alright ;) . Although I kinda wished the 700 series was in there as well. I loved those ones. But oh well.

Almost. the 700 series is 10 km/h faster than the 800 series, longer, has one extra seat, and a different cabin but the same molds. And their motors are different. The 700 series have an AC motor and the 800 series have a DC motor

Do you know the Tropicana advertisement of the ZGT?

when Sjoerd said he only builds the 800s i figured after you wrote the differences.

Well, advertising a 700 on an 800 would look wrong.

If you want, I could make it so that the repaintable version has 700-series vehiclenumbers.... But the drivers controls will still be those of the 800-series.
Would that be an acceptable solution?

Thanks; a lot of usefull pictures there...

Okay; a repaintable version, and as promised it carries the vehiclenumbers of the 700-series (but the controls are still of the 800). Here on a testrun on the Toronto map; I want it to be able to run in Rijndam and Toronto, and when these maps were build, installing the ATB system was still required for the AI to be able to run the vehicles. Therefore, I need to test the new vehicles here too, to see if it repsonds well to the ATB signals (and the ATB-related indicators in the drivers panel work as intended).

For those who want a headstart on repaints...
