Don't reply to spam, it only makes work for moderators hard because spam can be mass deleted, but replies to spam not.

On another note, it happens more and more often that spambots take over accounts of actual users that have been inactive for years. I guess they are checking against databases filled with leaked accounts and then try them out on different sites as people tend to use the same password on multiple sites. I already mass deactivated a bunch of inactive accounts, but I guess I didn't deactivate enough of them.
