Time for an official topic
As you might have guessed from the activity elsewhere in the forum, Beta 3.17 will focus on trams. Different from previous installments, these trams will be driven 'on sight' for most of the route. That means no overspeed protection and no signals, except for complex junctions. More on how this works later. Today the first testruns on Hageningen tram 13 were completed, here are a few screenshots to show the current work in progress:
TFS tram serving line 13 approaching tram stop 'Schapenmarkt'.
At Schapenmarkt, line 13 drives between Theater and Strandboulevard via Hageningen Centraal.
Approaching the junction at Hageningen Centraal, here signals control entry because of poor line of sight. We go straight.
Heading up the ramp to Hageningen Centraal upper level.
From here signals will be used again as we joint the lightrail.
Start of ZUB train protection.
Code received, speed limit 70km/u.
Driving past the beach.
Approaching Strandboulevard.
Getting ready for the return journey.
Approaching Hageningen Centraal again, inner platform, ZUB protection just switched itself off.
Down the ramp, signal clear to pass over the junction straight.
Points set to turn left towards the Church.
City centre, going straight here.
Theater, final stop, signal cleared to head into the reversing loop (platform 5).
At the reversing loop, ready to head back for another trip!
