8GB RAM should be enough, I run the game fine (on a 1050 Ti that is.) A friend of mine also runs with 8GB on a AMD RX 580 using the AMD patch I released.

Yes but in a laptop for example. It’s easier to change the RAM than the GPU so if getting a new computer isn’t an option, they should start with the RAM

16GB is usual for gaming systems. You don't need all of that for the sim though.
