Blue and pink lines

Post by GatwickExpress »

In my metro simulator I dont have any activities that use the blue or the pink lines. Are there activites out there that use these? Also how do I use the week timetable lol

There isn't a pink line, however, there's a Purple Line. The Blue Line however, IS in the game.
The Week activity has these two lines along with the other three.
The week timetable is in the name... You get to see how the trains operate an entire day with many services. The timetable is useful if you want to make a activity using it.

For example, the Purple Line timetable has the most services in many ways. During the Morning Peak for example, SOME trains operate via the loop, but because the track cannot hold three lines or accommodate that Many Purple Line Trains, Southwick Park Green Line, Normal Aldgate Purple Line Trains, the Green Line to Oxford Cross, runs fast during that period. In the Afternoon however, the eastbound trains, (I don't know if it's eastbound towards Aldgate, Simpleton) run in the loop. So Yellow Line Trains have to run fast to accommodate it.

So basically, according to the Wiki: The base service pattern is 6 trains per hour between South Redfield and Aldgate, 6 trains between Northbury Junction and Queens Cross, 3 trains between North Redfield and GWR Station and 3 trains between Blueford and GWR Station. In the peak the services towards Aldgate and GWR Station are extended as far as Oxford Cross, and an additional 6 trains per hour are added between Northbury Junction and Aldgate. These trains only run southbound in the morning and northbound in the evening. In the morning peak, the Aldgate services run fast betwen GWR Station and Aldgate, all other trains run as all stations service.

In the evening when the Yellow line service is reduced, the Purple Line service is extended between Aldgate and Queens Cross via Oxford Cross. After 22:00, the North Redfield branch is served only by a shuttle service to Buckshire Town.

So during the peak hours:
6+6+3+3+6 = 24. So 24 trains on the Purple Line.

So in the core of Thames, if you count the number of trains each line has during peak hours:

24 trains of the Purple Line
24 trains of the Yellow Line (There's 12 trains on each clockwise and anticlockwise).
18 trains of the Green Line (There's 6 trains operating on the Southwick Park branch, 12 trains operating on the Oxford Cross Branch).
24+24+18=66. 66 trains in the central core!

The Red Line is the only tube line that have many services too! According to the Wiki, There are 6 trains per hour between Ealing Central and Barlow Heights running all day, as well as 6 trains per hour which run between Ealing Central and Palace Garden until around 20:00. There are also 3 services to Hendon Hall. One from Beckton Junction with 12 trains/hour peak, which is reduced to 6 off-peak. A second service from Acton Central with 6 trains/hour until 20:00 and only off-peak. And a third from Birkbeck Cross, also with 6 trains/hour, off-peak from 20:00 to 22:00.

Now, let's add the total of trains.

Peak hour:
6+6+12+6+6 = 36. So you'll see 36 trains during peak hours.

Off peak however:
6+6+6+6+6= 30. So 30 trains in a hour.
