There should be a list somewhere on the site, but I haven't really been able to find it.

I was able to find the minimum specification in a readme file of version 3.9 of the simulator. It can work with the latest version of the simulator :
ReadeMe_v3.9 wrote:
Minimum System Requirements :
Operating system: Windows 64 bits (32 bits only for version 3.9)
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
Ram: 512 MB (1GB on Vista or above)
Video Card: 256 MB, DirectX 9.0 or above
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 compatible
Hard Drive space: 140 MB

Recommended System Requirements:
Processor: Dual Core 2.4 GHz
Ram: 2 GB
Video Card: 1 GB (Nvidia GeForce GT 500 series or higher)

Those surely aren’t valid now . There’s lots of improved scenery with extra textures now eg the s stock and Paris metro stock is a lot more heavy than the original Rotterdam metro stock this is in addition to larger maps

Depends on which one, but if you're comparing current gen ones then for sure. i3's are barely better than Pentium
