Here you can share the layout of your trains. (Example: I drove an NS TRAXX with 6 ICRm coaches to Rijndam Airport.) You don't necessarily have to put only railway trains here, subway is fine too! :)

Enjoy!

Has anyone tried sandwiching a locomotive between 2 ICRm cab cars?

yes me, because I made a "scenario" that new control cars has arrived and should be brought over the HSL to Zeeburg from the Back of Rijndam Zuid.

Just couple them back-to-back I guess. And dont forget the locomotives, the ICRm has no pantograph

Tried out the other day that ICRm control cars can be operated with the CC72000 locomotive at the rear.

Yeah, just enable the engine and drive, as that is the loc that is powering everything. Also works with a 1700, In real life this was done a lot with the DDAR vehicles in a so called push-pull configuration. One way the driver sits in the locomotive pulling everyting, the other time the driver sits in the DDAR cab and "remotely" uses the loc to pull the carriages forward. This was done with the ICRm a couple of times but nowadays they are just sandwitched between 2 TRAXX locs to drive on the HSL.

DDAR was a lot of fun. Best combination was the one with two locomotives in the middle: Bvk+ABv+Bv+1700+1700+Bv+ABv+Bvk, although the DDAR and ICR mixes were fun too, at one point they had combinations with 1700+B+BKD+A+B+Bvk. For those who don't know the naming convention of NS: A is first class, B is second class, D luggage, K kitchen, k is driver cab and v is for double deck cars. So the Bvk is the DDAR second class double deck car with driver cab, while BKD is the second class ICR single deck car with luggage compartment and kitchen.
