Post by Sjoerd »

The MP89 / NS93 / Be 8/8 TL trains are now available: https://filehorst.de/d/dCoHjAkj (Link updated with Rijndam 2020 activity fix)

For those of you who don't open the readme-file.... Here are the contents :D :

-------------------------------

This package contains 9 variants of Alstom rubber tired metro's.

-> Santiago NS93 - Neumático Santiago 1993
- 6-car unit
- 7-car unit
- 8-car unit

-> Paris MP89CC - Materiél Pneu 1989, Conduit Conducteur
- 3-car unit (fictional)
- 5-car unit
- 6-car unit

-> Paris MP89CA - Materiél Pneu 1989, Conduit Automatique
- 3-car unit (fictional)
- 6-car unit

-> Lausanne Be 8/8 TL
- 2-car unit

You can place as many trains in the simulation as there are trains of each type in reality (the real vehicle numbers have been used).

These trains run on pneumatic tires. For information on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber-tyred_metro

Important to know; with this system, the conventional steel rails are still in place. The trains also still have normal train wheels, which are used to guide the train through switches, for emergencies (in case of the flat pneumatic tire, the conventional train wheel is backup), and to support the train in the depot/workshop.
Although running these trains on normal tracks is possible, if it happens it is only done at shunting speeds and not in passenger service.

Initial 3D model (of the Santiago NS93) created by user Supertrain_fan. The model has been completed, made functional, and several variants added by Sjoerd Ydema.

REQUIRED AT LEAST:
-> Metrosimulator version 3.15 (or higher)

INSTALLATION:
1) Copy the files (AlstomMetro.000 and the Data folder) to the folder on your computer where "Simulator.exe" is located.
2) Start the simulator.

For Rijndam 2020, an airport shuttleservice activity is included with the Lausanne train.
For Rijndam 2022, an M6 activity is included with the Paris trains.

OPERATION IN METROSIMULATOR:
In the Rijndam network, the rubber tired metro's can be used on the Airport Shuttle Service (the 2-car Lausanne metro, or the 3-car Paris metro's).
Starting in Rijndam 2022 v1.5, line M6 is also converted for rubber tired metro's (all versions, including the 8-car Santiago NS93).

Line and service number display:
The number display on the front of the train can display 4 digits; the first two are the line number, the second two are the service number.
Both have a range of 01-99 (so you can show 0101 to 9999). You you do not set anything, the display remains empty.

-> You can set the line number with / and * (like setting the destination in other Metrosimulator rolling stock).
-> You can set the service number with Shift+/ and Shift+* (same as in other Metrosimulator rolling stock).

The line diagrams on the interior are set according to the line number. There are 20 line diagrams, and they loop around; so the diagram for
for example Rijndam line M1 will show up if you set the line number display to 01, 21, 41, 61 or 81.

Simvliet line diagrams are under line numbers 13 and 14. Line number 13 was chosen as all metro's on lines A, B en C in Simvliet run under service
numbers in he 300-series (and "03" was already used for Rijndam). So when setting the line number to 13, you will get the line diagrams for Simvliet lines A/B/C in the interior of the train. Same for line D in Hageningen; set the line display to 14.

-> You can find (and repaint if you like) the line diagrams in the folder "\Data\AlstomMetro\textures".

Add banners inside the vehicles:
-> You can find (and repaint if you like) the add banners in the folder "\Data\AlstomMetro\textures".

Driver controls automatic metro's:
In the automatic variants, MP89 CA and Be 8/8 TL, the driver controls can be opened by going to the cabview positions and using Shift+X.

Light signalling:
The Santiago metro's have yellow lights in between the headlights. These are used to signal the train running out-of-service (fixed lights),
or to signal that the train is making shunting movements (flashing lights).

-> Use the [ and ] keys to activate/deactivate fixed yellow lights, and the \ key to activate/deactivate flashing yellow lights.

The Paris and Lausanne automatic metro's have white lights in between the headlights. These are used to signal the train is operated manually.
-> Use the \ key to activate/deactivate these lights.
-> With the [ and ] keys you can (if you whish) also activate just one of them, instead of both.

Misc:
As these trains are generally the same length of the platforms on the lines they are used on, the couplings are for emergency situations only, and therefore they are not equipped with components to couple two trains electrically. Coupled use in passenger service is therefore not possible.
However, in the simulation the fictional 3-car Paris versions have been fitted with a 'full' coupling, so these can be used coupled in passenger service.
Also the Lausanne Be 8/8 TL, which has a fold-away coupling of the type more commonly found on trams; due to it's short length and the generally long platforms in the simulator, these have also been given an electric component to make them usable in coupled passenger service.

XML codes for using the trains in your own activities:

Just been doing some testing and noticed that none of the Disabled options on the bottom panel work. Doors, power, brakes, and traction all do nothing when ticked, This is on the MP89CA 6 car model

Just tried it here.... works fine on my computer. If I select "doors disabled", indeed I can not open the doors anymore. "traction disabled"; no more reaction when I try to accelerate.

It's not a bug but it's hurt me, in real life, The MP89 can't open doors separately. It must be all or none. Do you think is possible to change that? (speak for IA because human don't have the choice)
