Both can pull the containerwagon right?

Well, the NS Traxx is meant for cargo, but AFAIK 1700's are meant for passenger services and 1600/1800's for cargo

The 1600's where originally ment to be used for both passengers and cargo. When the Dutch railways where split into separate passenger (NS Reizigers) and cargo (NS Cargo) companies, the fleet of 1600-series locomotives where divided. The NS Reizigers locomotives were renumbered into the 1800 series (their original number, raised by 200), and the NS Cargo locomotives staying in the 1600-series.

The 1700 series locomotives were always ment for passenger services; first in the DD-AR doubledecker trains, later replacing the 1800's in intercity trains hauling ICR carriages (as 50 of the 1700's in doubledecker trains where replaced by mDDM motorcoaches).

Now, a lot of 1600/1800 locomotives have left the tracks (for the ever-lasting stabling yards in the sky ), and a number of them have been sold to other cargo company's, like this one: http://www.nicospilt.com/2017/20170515-1621a.JPG

The 1700's.... The ICR carriages are now hauled by Traxx locomotives (so they can be used on the high speed line Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Breda-Belgium, and Den Haag - Eindhoven which also now uses part of the HSL), so the only 1700's still running are used for the not-modernized doubledecker trains which did not get a mDDM motorcoach. These trains are due to be retired next year (but they have been pulled out of retirement before, so who knows... )

Don't forget the intercity service Amsterdam - Bad Bentheim!

Where is the 1607?

The "I pulled the longest passengertrain" (60 ICR carriages) record locomotive? It went to demolition.

I wounder what the new Simvliet D Line's route configuration looks like on the system map. Time will tell.
