Sometimes I have that issue as well in Rijndam 2006 with a 5300.

İt happens if you push the emergency stop button(generally red and look like mushroom). But if you do emergency brake on controller it's not make any sound and flattening. but in the simulation it doesn't matter if you do emergency brake you have listen the sound.

I do not have this problem (hearing a train that is somewhere else on the map).
So for me... If I can't reproduce the problem (especially if you say it happens at random), I can't find the cause.
