The passenger passage between trains on the ICM reminds me of the walkways used to board planes at airports, so....
What if we were to treat trains like airplanes, and not make them stop alongside a long platform, but facing the terminal?
Pro: Terminal stations could be a lot smaller, freeing up space for other purposes
Con: passenger exchange takes longer per train
(And: most traintypes do not have 'front doors'. And: locomotive hauled trains need shunting to get the loco out of the way, and so on. But I still like the idea... )

Two '6000 series' moments; one moment is long forgotten in history while the other is very recent.

- A very special run on the last day of the Rijndam Noorderpoort - Panbos railway on the 11th December 1998. Regular passenger traffic had already been suspended 7 months ago due to bad track condition which was the fate of the railway. However, the railway got a new life in 2006 when it was reopened as part of the Rijndam Metro.

- A couple of locomotives doing a short freight run at Zeeburg Haven, ready to depart back to Zeeburg where an NS 1700 will take over the wagons and bring them into Rijndam via Groenburg.
