Re: Just A Small Idea
For Metrosimulator, I am not a fan of this idea; it is a one-direction vehicle, so you would have to drive backwards half the time. And when you want to open the door and get out, the 3rd rail is in the way; either this prevents you from opening the door at all, or you can open the door, but as you step out, you might touch the underside of the 3rd rail with your foot and be hit by a nice 750V DC
For a tram network it is another story; at least then you have turning loops (unless you are only running bidirectional trams), and no 3rd rail.
For it to work in metrosimulator, you could only use it (safely) on overhead whire sections, and there would have to be a system that allows you to leave the tracks at the road crossings (and use a nearby roundabout on the road to turn around).
Besides all that; we already have maintenance rolling stock available.

Yeah, I know someone was going to bring that up. The trucks are only good for overhead wire and nonelectrified sections.

Re: Just A Small Idea
Trucks like this are probably only going to happen when you can also drive on regular roads with it. So when Metro Simulator Beta becomes Everything Simulator Beta.

In Portugal we had this. That's funny, because it's like a truck or a jeep on the rails...Alfacinha315 wrote:LosAngelesMetro56 wrote:Hi Rail Truck!
