Re: Rijndam
It's coded as level crossing, with invisible track
Similar method to the Buitenvelden tram square
Re: Rijndam
Perhaps I should (have) build in an invisible switch as well; to derail you when you try to cross the bridge when it's open

That's super janked. The law of physical is gone. God has left us.
I take it back. God has given us a path.
This is now a dead account.
Re: Rijndam
A severe derail happened today at the newly built bridge, near the Rijndamsebaan tram stop. The tram, which was one of the new KTM Citylink rolling stock, was unable to stop before the safety barriers. As a result, it went at the end of the bridge where the driver managed to stop it by lowering the pantographs.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt. A replacement tram came to take the passengers, while a maintenance locomotive came to recover the tram.

Just a little reminder: do Not post easteregg solutions (like how to open the bridge) if you find them. Let everyone solve these little puzzles for themselves!

I just now noticed that in 3.12, you had removed the emplacement at Panbos in Rijndam 2020. Why exactly?
Re: Rijndam
A lil question regarding all KTM trams. How driver can enter its cab? Openable windows seem too small to fit them

Re: Rijndam
I'd say that normally in all trams, you access the cab via the interior of it, most trams doesn't have a direct door from the outside to access the cab.
Re: Rijndam
Those tracks where pretty pointless; with a 10-minute interval, you only need one platform track at the terminus. With that, the second platform track can be used for disruptions (delays) and parking a train out of the way for a while.
Therefore separate stabling tracks are not needed here. And they where also not a good place as a open air depot; in a forest environment, out of the city, with just fences around.... Stable trains there all night, and you will be spending many thousands of euro's a year on graffiti removal costs and other vandalism (or permanent security presence)
In earlier years, those tracks could be usefull when the RSG2 was still in use, as an alternative location for temporary stabling to the Rijndam Airport depot. But after; the main depot Molenwijk is just on the other end of line M1.
So, for the 2020 network, the transport company realized those Panbos stabling tracks where not being used anymore, and they could be removed.
Come to think of it; the money for track maintenance could be better spend on increasing flexibility on the network; those new switches near Simvlietlaan and Museumkwartier.
