Have you tried using it?
As I re-arranged the central station square in Rijndam 2022, that area has become quite a bit lighter on your computer then in Rijndam 2020. ;)

Okay, As I am doing some alterations for RIjndam 2022 v1.2 anyway (in order to make the tram network more usable for the three unidirectional tram types I'll be releasing)...
Who else would like a re-design of the Central Station Loop?

Reason for this question; When making an activity for the Toronto trams (with an extra CS-Garenmarkt service), I found that having 2 tram platforms at the Central Station loop is no big luxury. But as these trams have only doors on one side, I can't use the inner track of the current loop (unless I start using the loop in both directions, which is not my favorite option).
So I can either;
1) Make the inner track a little bit tighter, so I can get the platform for that track to the right side. Or;
2) Redesign the entire loop.

I found that option 2 is possible, and doing it without the under-the-station tram-tunnel, if I use 30m radius turns. A bit too tight to my taste, but the departing turn in the current loop features this radius too.

Redesign the loop, will there be a loop at Garenmarkt?

  • A reversing loop, with exit-platform, at Garenmarkt. This will make a city center extra service on line T1 possible (with unidirectional trams), between Central Station and Garenmarkt. The new platform is for exiting the vehicle only (so no departure display). For departure towards Central Station, the normal platform is used.

The new CS tram platforms;

The old loop has been removed, and replaced by a loop that's completely in the open. To make this happen, one bus platform had to be removed; the loop crosses the bus platform directly behind the photographer of the picture above ( :D ), and makes a U-turn to the left.
