This is a railways-only version of Rijndam 2022 v1.4. The Rijndam metro and tram networks have been removed, in an effort to make the railway-part easier on your computer. Only line M1 between Rijndam Molenwijk and Simvlietlaan is still usable.

There is one timeline difference to Rijndam 2022 v1.4; in this timeline, the Denia branchline did not become part of the metro/tram networks after Rijndam 2006. Therefore, it is still a narrow gauge railway branchline in this version. However, to make through trains to Rijndam Centraal possible, the branchline is now dual gauge (1000mm and 1435mm). Also, at Rijndam Centraal there is a 7th platform track, to accomodate trains to and from Denia, and a few switches have been re-arranged to make two of the sidings available from track 7.

It's a pretty big network; when you start a simulation, it may take a minute to load, depending on your computer.
The total network is however much smaller then Rijndam 2022 (due to the metro/tram networks taken out), so it should be faster then Rijndam 2022.

REQUIRED AT LEAST:

Metrosimulator version 3.15 (or higher)

REQUIRED FOR ACTIVITIES (Rolling stock):

INSTALLATION:

1) Copy the files (RijndamRailways.000 and the Data folder) to the folder on your computer where "Simulator.exe" is located.
2) Start the simulator.

NOTE:

When setting your destination through your trainnumber, be aware of the following!
  • When traveling between Rijndam and Zeeburg via the HSL, your trainnumber MUST start with "9" (for example"9114CX"). Otherwise, the CVL will set a route via Vierdijk!
  • At Hemlo and Groenburg; Intercity's will cause a departing path to be set earlier, sou you can pass the station without stopping. But only if the trainnumber starts with "8" or "9"!
  • In the Channel Tunnel, trains with a train number starting with "1" are treated as autotrain shuttles between both tunnel terminals. These do not require a specific destination letter at the end.
  • At Denia, trains with a train number starting with "1" (and destinationletter "D") are send to track 1, from where you can reach the depot.
  • From Denia, destination "C" send you to Rijndam Centraal (do this with standard gauge trains ONLY). Destination "R" sends you to Rijndam Zuid.
If you make your own activities - Note!

The depot at Denia is dual gauge. However, the depot's train detection can't handle both gauges at the same time.
So when using the depot for standard gauge trains, use "DNA.cty".
When using the depot for narrow gauge trains, use "DNA_NarrowGauge.cty".

It should be possible to use both at the same time (if you use one track for narrow gauge and one for standard gauge), but the 'normal' yard will not detect parked narrow gauge trains and vice versa.
Therefore, if you use both at the same time, the simulator with act as if there are actually two separate depots (in which case it's up to you to keep the 'other' track free for the 'other' depot to use).

Examples:

Code: Select all

  <yard pack="RijndamRailways" file="DNA.cty" departures="auto" arrivals="auto">
   <shedule name="Ochtend" time="06:00:01" autodepartures="06:00:01" autoarrivals="07:00:01">

   </shedule>
  </yard>

Code: Select all

  <yard pack="RijndamRailways" file="DNA_NarrowGauge.cty" departures="auto" arrivals="auto">
   <shedule name="Ochtend" time="06:00:01" autodepartures="06:00:01" autoarrivals="12:00:01">

   </shedule>
  </yard>

If the train number starts with 2,3,4,5,7,8 or 9.... Track 3 (with has the low platform for the tram) is prioritized (tracks are assigned based on occupancy; 3->2->1)

If the train number starts with 1, you will be send to track 1, so you can then enter the depot.

If the train number starts with 6, the tracks are assigned based on occupancy, with track 2 first; 2->3->1. This way, if you are running both the tram and 'normal' trains, you can send the normal trains to tracks 1 or 2 (by using trainnumbers beginning with 1 or 6), making it more likely that track 3 is available for the tram.

For all of the above; the destination letter at the end of the train number must be "D", so the CVL knows you are going into Denia and you are not actually just departed from there.

For a tram activity however..... Make your own modified CTD, as at Westwoud, there is only a low platform for the tram at track 1, which you would need to use in both directions.

The tracks are there, but as the next stations in both directions are not; no AI traffic there.

Nice! Downloading it right now! Atleast I wouldn't need to plug in my flash drive and activate Windows speed boost anymore when playing Rijndam map.

@everyone: If you feel confused about Rijndam's timeline by this, then you should know, this is an alternate timeline, where Denia never got rid of railway connection and some things also didn't change. It's not considered canon to the Rijndam's timeline. You can imagine it like this.

Somebody didn't like the fact, that Denia cancelled railway connection and "connected" itself to metro/tram network, so he/she traveled from 2022 back to 2006 and convinced mayor of the Rijndam (possibly Sjoerd) to disagree with cancellation of railway connection to Denia and merging the track to metro/tram network, and also convinced the mayor not to expand metro/tram network to Denia in the future. When he/she returned from 2006 back to 2022, the result was this map.
If you want to make a very fast ride, just disable ATB/ZUB, put trottle to 1.00 and enjoy.
