How to stop automatic inputs on gradients?

Post by Nicolas »

Hi, I'm new to the game and I have a question.

I know how to disable ATP, but whenever I go through a gradient, the throttle/brake control always moves from its position without any input from me. Is it possible to disable this and let me control the speed myself?

It's called gravity, you can't disable it.

I thought it was some form of protection. I'm used to Train Simulator, where the controls don't actually move by themselves, you have to react to gradients manually.

The controls aren't moving, but the acceleration changes based on the gradient.

And the controls in the cab are programmed to move based on the acceleration, as the simulator (currently) does not have variables for programming them based on your actions directly.

So the movement of the cab controls is actually related to the acceleration rather than actual inputs from the player. That answers my question. I guess I'll have to get used to it. I play mostly on the Glasgow map which has a throttle/brake controller, I noticed the more modern trains of Slimviet and Rijndam don't have them.

Glasgow is a third-party add-on, I can't control the quality of those so yes it is possible these trains behave different from the default vehicles.

Lets just say I personally prefer to have controls that are present, but don't work 100% correctly, if the alternative is to not have them at all ;)
