What's the maximum polygons in an object before simulator begins to lag?

Though it's too far into the future, I was wondering, with the extended focus the simulator has and the fact that it has to load the entire network, this'll be an even bigger load on computers if we have the whole Rotterdam network for example (if trams and trains also get implemented in the same map). Will the simulator be simulating the entire network at once, the way it's right now, or will it load per segment?

I brought this topic back up because there's a handful of objects/prompts that I wish to port but 2 of them together alone makes up 11,428 polygons. Is this lagworthy?

There are over 14.000 polygons in the driver cabin of a 1973 stock London underground train alone......
