Afaik they couldn't get proper sound recordings. Don't forget the 5300 & 5400 series don't have 2 cabs, only one real and the other is an emergency control panel.

Proper sound recordings?

I remember that Michiel said something similar some time ago, but that was when the maintenance/rescue loco didn't have a motor sound :|

Yes, I know they have a distinctive sound when they depart, but I'm happy to excuse that for as long as Metro Sim is a beta.

So do one type of the Russian-Rijndam trams, and some Berlin S-bahn trains ;)

The shunting controls are used in low-speed environments (depots etc.) and are usually locked out of use.
I'm not going to use the shunting controls very often, and I could use the status bar at the bottom of the screen if I wanted check the speed ;)

I don't really care for the 5300 series. I mainly want the 5400 series. (I mean whenever the easy map editor release in the far future, I'll probably use them for my MRL and MPL.)

Same problem as the 5300, these trains are not finished. And about map editor, the chance is nearly impossible. Just saying, if there is something wrong, correct me.

Route Editor will get released when it gets user friendly. The reason there are just a few route builders now is that the tool is too complex to be explained to multiple people. Until it gets simplified, it won't be released. Also, this is just a BETA version, not the final release/full version.

It took me only a few days to learn how the simulator works. Figuring things out myself is a hobby. So basically, it's not a challenge. That's why I say easy. ;)

As I have understand from what the people who do have access to the editor have said over time, the main problem is not that it's complex, since as you said, you can learn, by yourself, how to use it. The problem is that the editor is very, very, very buggy and if you don't know what tool to use and how to use it, it may crash. And that's a problem. And if there's a serious problem, you can't release a software until it gets fixed and you have a stable version of it in your hands. (And I assume, the editor is not stable at all).
