When it happens to me, the reason is that the End key stucks. In my keyboard, the End is the same button with the Numpad 1 and I need to toggle the num lock key to use it. If, by mistake, I toggle the num lock button while still pressing the End button it gets stuck and the doors can't close.

You can also try disabling the door protection (Ctrl+Shift+D) for while and then try to close the door, or shut the cab off and then turn it back on.

The door protection alone just lets you open the doors while the train is moving. It doesn’t cause this problem.

He can, however, disable it to move.

Reminds me of door failures on brand new 81-765 trains when the doors weren't adjusted properly, hit against themselves too hard and triggered safety reopening, it looked exacty like that :D
