I got some ideas for Michiel!

Hello everyone, You know, I am very interested in this game and I was thinking about things, that maybe can be added in the future. Here it is!

1. Addictional security systems ABS and ASR
What is it:
ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) prevents wheels to be flat in heavy braking and prevents annoying clicking (track brake sound, which persist and that's annoying). Also helps train easily stop on wet or icy rails.
ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) prevents train to slip in heavy acceleration and helps train accelerate better on wet or icy rails. ASR works like that: the system is controlling if the wheels has good rpm and adhesion with acceleration and speed, If not, it reduces accelerating force to the wheels.

2. More failures and malfunctions
In the sim is simulated only one failure, broken pantographs, but it needs more failures
ex. traction fire, overheated brakes, and so on
There are list of some malfuntions and it's details (it can be more of them)

#1 Traction fire
What is it: The motor in car starts burning because of overload
How to cause it: Just overload motor (disable traction in other cars and let it work alone)
Appearence in game: Outside you can see thick smoke or flames coming from chassis. If you are accelerating, the rate of acceleration decreases
What to do: stop in the next station, switch off controls and try to extinguish motor (fire extinguishers will be added in the future).

#2 Brakes overheat
What is it: The brakes get's overheated becasuse of very heavy braking, braking too often or too long
How to cause it: Brake very heavily, very often or very long.
Appearence in game: Outside you can see thin smoke coming from wheels. If you are braking, the brakes will not brake on 100% power (breaking distance is longer)
What to do: Slowly stop and wait, before brakes cools down. Then continue driving.

What do you think about this Michiel. About malfuntions, you can make more of them, it's up to you.

Also parking brake (if it exists on RET trains): applied on each car manually, when you fail to release it on some car or unit, it causes flat wheel.

Atimur, that's a good idea :idea: ! But, I don't know, what Michiel thinks about it (about my ideas and your idea).

Everyone can and may reply to this topic. If you want to have a private chat with Michiel or someone else, you can send that specific person a private message.

Your ideas are great, but as for now, not relevant. What some people sometimes fail to understand, is that the version we can all play right now is just a beta version. That means it is an early, incomplete version. In the future, more things will be added to the simulator. As for now, Michel is working on other this for the simulator, for example the engine the game runs on, and also there is a major project going on for getting shadows and lights to work in the game. Those are some primary things Michiel is working on, and other stuff like more options for a broken down train will come later, when other projects are completed.

Michiel is not ignoring your post, i'm sure he is taking every suggestion in good consideration. But he isn't superman (at least not to my knowledge :P ). He can't just add new features to the game in a few days. Be patient, the new beta 4 is currently being developed and that will most likely contain new features, such as tunnels etc.

I understand that you think I'm holding Michiel. ;) The point is that Michiel has other things to do as Tom said.
As you said Michiel isn't posting a answer every time (but i'm sure he reading all topics). So me or Tom will answer so that Michiel doesn't have to and you guys have a answer.

I'm sure most of your ideas will be added in the future.

Oh my god :shock: ! What I have done :oops: ?! I'm really sorry about attacks on Michiel and Senjer. I was pissed off and I think you know, if human is filled with rage, he can do incredible things and can be aggressive like that. Senjer I'm sorry about attacking you. Always hold Michiel and protect him against these aggressive posts. Michiel I'm sorry about attacking you. I didn't know you are very busy and you working on it. I believe, you will make the best and the greatest simulator in the world. Michiel, if you rode that aggressive post above this, piss on it and take this excusion.
Tom, I understood you and I will keep it in my mind.

8-) following your idea alongside brozma`s i think we should put them together and also add other country maps and trains to the sim but not too much because its still in beta but when finished remains come in

What's the point of your post and why do you kick this topic? And I don't think it's good to add other metro systems, because the security systems and all the other stuff are prepared for Rotterdam metro systems. And, if you really really really want to do something for the simulator, why don't you learn programming by yourself? I'm sure you will not be bored for 20 years if you do that! :P

Michiel is going to release route editor in version 4.0,
if you want new map,it time to make it yourself,not only rely on michiel's work.

To prevent people from asking, Michiel never said the route editor is coming with beta 4.0.
