I understand the reasons for wanting to lock out manual driving in real life, but in this game I'm more entertained by doing things myself. Unless I'm really tired and just want to see trains go by.

I have another question. I've noticed that if you have ATP disabled and enter AI mode, ATP will be enabled again and will continue to be even if AI mode is disabled. So the movement of the cab controls is actually related to the acceleration rather than actual inputs from the player. That answers my question. I guess I'll have to get used to it. I thought it was some form of protection. I'm used to Train Simulator, where the controls don't actually move by themselves, you have to react to gradients manually.

How to stop automatic inputs on gradients?
Hi, I'm new to the game and I have a question.
I know how to disable ATP, but whenever I go through a gradient, the throttle/brake control always moves from its position without any input from me. Is it possible to disable this and let me control the speed myself?
